Now we can jump into the fun part of these transition pages, the backstory.
The Big Decision
This whole journey started when I was 23 years old, it was two weeks before law school was supposed to start, and I just made the craziest decision of my life.
For context, my dad always saw me becoming a successful lawyer. He believed I could be a better version of him. And honestly, it made sense. Law school was the "safe" path - a good career, a stable income, and proud parents.
But I had this fire inside me that wouldn't go away. Ever since I was 6 years old running a lemonade stand (with positive revenue!), I knew I was meant to be an entrepreneur.
Everyone told me I was crazy. "You're throwing away a secure future," they said. My friends were all starting their careers, and here I was, about to turn everything upside down.
But still… I believed the biggest risk was not taking any risk at all.
So I did it. I withdrew my admission, lost thousands in deposits, and moved to a new city with nothing but a dream and a burning desire to prove everyone wrong.
My dad was disappointed... I could see it in his eyes. But sometimes you have to trust your gut, even when it means letting people down temporarily.
I had no idea what was coming next. No plan, no safety net, just pure determination and maybe a little bit of stubbornness. 😅
But that's the thing about entrepreneurship - it's not about knowing all the answers. It's about being brave enough to search for them.
If you want to learn how I survived in NYC with nothing but a dream…
